Apple AirPods 2 has been rumored to be working on the second-generation Apple AirPods Pro.
Leaks and rumors have already dropped a few features and expected designs of the upcoming TWS earbuds from the company.
Rumors have also revealed that Apple might announce the new AirPods Pro alongside the next-generation iPhone lineup later this year.
A new leak suggests that Apple is planning to implement a new feature that will allow users to track their workouts without the need for the iPhone.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and Debby Wu claim that Apple AirPods 2 will feature built-in fitness sensors that allow users to track their activities without being connected to the iPhone.
Apple AirPods 2 likely to borrow
Samsung had already implemented something similar with the Gear IconX launched in 2018. It had fitness sensors embedded into them and 4GB of storage space for those who wanted to listen to music during the workout. Samsung has now dropped the feature from their latest earbuds — Galaxy Buds Pro and Galaxy Buds 2.
Reports also suggest that Apple might allow better activity tracking when the upcoming AirPods 2 will be paired with Apple Watch.
Apple is known for implementing features and tuning them to work to their best potential. However, it will be nice to see how Apple takes these sensors and makes them better on the next-generation AirPods.
It is to note that not much information is available regarding the upcoming AirPods Pro. But, leaks suggest that the second-generation AirPods Pro will likely feature a redesigned look and a smaller form factor than the ongoing model. The H1 chip, responsible for faster connectivity, audio processing, and noise cancellation, will also replace the next-generation chip.
